Network cabling is building a campus telecommunications cabling infrastructure that consists of number of standardized smaller elements called subsystems. Many standard small subsystems are united together through modems or routers into one integrated unit known as a Network. Network cabling is not only done at homes or buildings but also done in a wide range at Metropolitan cities. When done in a wider area, the Network Cablings and the area connected via the networks cables are called as Local Area Networks (LAN).
The installation and cable design in network cablings are governed by a set of standard rules that specify the wiring data centers, offices, apartments and buildings for data or voice communication. The network cabling is done by Category 5 (Cat5e) cables. Multiple units or systems are connected all together so as to share, read, write and transmit data form one unit to the other is taken care of network cabling. Network cabling links are made with RJ-45 port or 8P8C socket. The network cables have a specific color code which only when defined correctly, accepts data.
Network cabling is used to create a network to connect end - user equipment to the outlets of the horizontal cabling system, to connect telecommunication rooms to individual outlets on the floor and connect between entrance facilities, equipment rooms and telecommunication rooms known on the whole as backbone cabling. Network cabling is generally connected using star topology cables since it is more advantageous.
