Infernal Hell’s Vengeance has been released recently for the Xbox 360. It prequel was released a couple of years back on the PC which had no great reception. And this new version for the console is no better. This game has more than one reason to be easily left on the store shelves. They include bad logic in aims and overall plot, the extreme unhelpful gameplay, unreliable controls and more. To add to that, if the gamer persists through the game, that only results in the enemies coming after you repetitively without any actual reward to make the victories worth the fighting. The story does provide the occasional moment of levity, presenting the battle between heaven and hell in such an over-the-top fashion that it’s hard to not laughout at the ridiculous dialogue. But this is not strong enough to pull this otherwise soulless game from the depths of darkness. The action plays out like a typical third-person shooter, albeit with cumbersome controls. Aiming is extremely finicky, so hitting a moving enemy or lining up a precise headshot is a practice in futility. If the shoddy controls and tedious demon powers are enough to derail this shooter, the inconsistent logic dooms it. The levels in Infernal are linear, but you will often find yourself stuck because the game doesn’t stay true to its own set of rules. The senseless logic is evident throughout the game. You could die in needless places and still live if the level requires it. You cannot do some logically possible things unless they are really required in the level completion, like glass that won’t break even when you shoot at it.
